Instructions

There are three different types of application to choose from to obtain development approval.
  1) A combined application requiring building assessment and planning approval is the normal application.
  2) Planning approval where there are no building works involved.
  3) Building approval where there are no external changes to the building or the allotment.

Council also provides a consultation service designed to advise Applicants on the responsibilities of all participants in the Application Approval process and to ensure that the information Applicants have provided is sufficient to perform an effective assessment

Whilst we strongly suggest that this service be utilised by Applicants, there will be some instances where a simple phone call will suffice. Requesting a consultation will allow Council Officers to determine what action to take for your specific application. If you choose to request a consultation now, these details will be linked directly to your final Application Lodgement

Lodge Application

As a general rule most building work, and certain changes of use require approval under the Building Regulations. Building work includes the removal of internal walls, the installation of fittings, the replacement of windows and doors containing glazing, constructing rooms in roof spaces and the construction of garages and extensions.
